You can enjoy item based discounts of 12% based on letter machineability and address accuracy (automatic sortation) determined by Royal Mail sorting machines.
To use Cleanmail Advance you must meet defined letter dimensions including address location and clear zones, apply a Licence, post at least 1000 Items, complete a Sales Order online and present the letters in trays. The total billed volume will be based on the sales order volume. Royal Mail sorting machines read the Licence number, check the letter for address accuracy and allocate a discount on an item basis for items automatically sorted. Items failing to be automatically sorted are priced as Account / Franked Meter Standard Tariff. Letter dimensions The maximum size is 240mm x 165mm and the minimum
size is 145mm x 110mm.
We will organise your 12 alpha character code called a Licence Number (one for 1st Class & one for 2nd class). The Licence Number is applied in a specified area (top central area) of each envelope when the Franking Machine Impression is applied. The application of the Licence number in accordance with the Licence specification is essential to use Cleanmail Advance.
Post a minimum of 1000 Items per class, per site, per Sales Order on the day of posting. A Cleanmail Advance posting can be collected over one or more collections provided the total volume per class and site on the day of posting totals 1000 Items.
We will arrange Royal Mail A4 trays and wheeled containers called Yorks. The letters must be separated into 1st Class and 2nd Class and put into separately labelled trays. The letters must be presented upside down and facing the front of the tray. The trays are placed in the York.
The address must be machine printed in a defined area of the letter to be read by Royal Mail sorting machines. The Optical Character Recognition (OCR) address specification is recommended to maximise discounts but it is not compulsory.
Royal Mail require certain areas of the mailpiece to have no markings, these are called clearzones. These areas are where Royal Mail barcodes will be printed on each item. The barcodes are for Royal Mail sorting machines to print and read codes on letters to enable mechanical sortation.
Meter postings attach Franked Meter Impressions at the Franked Standard Tariff rate to each mailpiece. Discounts are refunded either by cheque or as a credit to a Royal Mail Account. A refund application is not required.
To assist you in maximising the discounts you receive by improving your address accuracy. Royal Mail offers ListCleaner™, a software package which will improve your address accuracy as well as helping to target your mailing. Other software packages are available from alternative suppliers. |
